Abstract Expressionism

My abstract pieces are created using several media: acrylics, cold wax and oil as well as mixed-media collage.  

Below are works created in response to several themes.  Some are nonobjective responses to the state of our country. Some reflect  my childhood passion for dance. As I moved into adulthood, the memories of grace, rhythm, and movement remain part of my lived experience. Some of these works are figurative with dancers poised in remembered stances.  

 

Later pieces are abstractions of  my experience of winter in the northeast with snow and wind and ice.  And finally the last piece, Germination, is an intuitively created expression that I prefer to leave to the beholder to make their own associations.
